Aug 26 2016 - "2016 US Open Goes Polish" Charity Event in NYC
Radoslaw Szymanik is one of the most decorated and successful coaches in the history of Polish tennis. He has a proven track record for taking junior boys and girls, ages 10-14 years and turning them into world class players competing at the highest level of international play.
Mr. Szymanik was an accomplished top-seeded player in his own right winning multiple titles in both Polish and European championship tournaments but his true talent emerged when he started coaching. His career began in 1997 with juniors at his hometown club, “Lechia” in Gdansk.
In 2003 his team Panfil/Koniusz won the Junior Australian Open and Marcin Gawron reached the junior finals at Wimbledon. Between 2009 and 2012 Mr. Szymanik coached Polish Doubles Fyrstenberg/Matkowski, winners of the ATP 250 Eastbourne 2010, runner ups at 2011 US Open and Barclays ATP World Tour finals. Fyrstenberg/Matkowski were also the winners of ATP 1000 Madrid in 2012 and ATP 500 Barcelona in 2012.
Mr. Szymanik has been the Davis Cup Captain for Poland since 2007. He continues coaching Mariusz Fyrstenberg and Marcin Matkowski and has been a part-time coach to Jerzy Janowicz and Grzegorz Panfil since 2013. This year he is going, as a Coach of Polish men’s tennis team to Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
Mr. Szymanik recently moved to the United States and is launching The Radoslaw Szymanik Tennis Foundation intended to promote and train the next generation of Polish tennis players both here and back in Poland.
